_ 「供犠」の意味は，「内奥性」「内在性」に回帰すること，そのために「事物」を破壊すること，ただそれだけだ，とバタイユは主張する。
人間の手で栽培される植物であることを「やめ」，飼育される動物であることを「やめ」，そのような「労働」に従事する人間＝「事物」であることを「やめ」，「聖なる世界」（内奥性，内在性の世界）に向けて，すべての「事物」たち（植物も動物も人間も）を「引き戻す」こと，それが「供犠」なのだ，と。このことをしっかりと頭に収めておくことにしよう。その上で，バタイユが，さらに語りつづける言説に耳を傾けてみることにしよう。
「供犠執行者と事物の世界とがあらかじめ切り離されることが，人間と世界との間に，また主体と物＝客体との間に内奥性が回帰するために，あるいは内在性が回帰するために必要である。つまり供犠執行者は，自己を事物の世界から切り離すために供犠を必要としているのであり，そして生贄となる動物の側でも，もし供犠執行者が彼自身まずもって事物の世界から分離するのでないならば，生贄のほうも事物の世界から分離することはできないであろう。」
「事物の世界」とは「俗なる世界」のこと，そして「内在性の世界」とは「聖なる世界」。言いかえれば，前者は「文化・文明の世界」，後者は「自然界」。「文化・文明の世界」は人間の知性や理性によって「自然」を支配（「否定」）することによって構築された世界＝「事物の世界」。「自然界」は宇宙誕生以来のあるがままの，天地自然の大いなる力がはたらいている世界＝「神聖なる世界」（「聖なるもの」や「神的なるもの」が充満する世界）。ヒトは前者の世界に，人間は後者の世界に属する。したがって，「供犠」とは人間がヒトに回帰するための「儀礼」なのである。そのために，人間にとっては生贄となる動植物が必要であり，動植物もまた人間がヒトになることを必要とする。
こうして，バタイユは「供犠執行者は次のように呟いているのである」として，「供犠」に関する直接的な言説を閉じる。
「内奥においては，この私は神々の至高な世界に，神話が示すような至高性の世界に属している。すなわち激烈な力が荒れ狂う，利害や打算を離れた雅量の世界に属している。ちょうど私の妻が諸々の私の欲望に属しているのと同じように。生贄の獣よ，私はおまえをそのいる世界から引き戻す。つまりおまえが事物の状態に還元された形でしか存在できず，だからおまえの内奥の本姓にとっては外的な意味しか持てないような世界からおまえを引き戻すのだ。そして私はおまえを神的世界との親密な交わりへと，あるいは全て存在するものの深い内在性との親密な交わりへと立ち返らせる。」
供犠執行者である人間だけは，密かに「内奥」を持ち合わせていて，「激烈な力が荒れ狂う，利害や打算を離れた雅量の世界に属している」ことを自覚している。それは「私の妻」との交合をとおして確認することもできるように。しかし，飼育されている動物たちにとっての「内奥の本姓」は，もはや，「外的な意味しか持てないような世界」に封じ込められている。だから，供犠執行者であるわたしが生贄にして，「事物の世界」に封じ込められている状態から「引き戻す」のだ，と。そして，「神的世界との親密な交わりへと」立ち返らせるのだ，と。
以上が，バタイユが「供犠」について直接言及している部分のすべてである。しかし，この「供犠」に関する言説はこのあとにつづく各論の大前提になっているものであって，これで完了しているわけではない。すこしだけ予告をしておけば，やがて，祝祭を論じ，人身供犠を語り，戦争や商品にまで架橋しながら，宗教の根源に横たわるものを明らかにしていく。
そこで，わたしも予告をしておこう。
もう，すでに，ここまでのブログでも明らかにしてきているように，とりわけ，この「供犠」にいたって明らかになってきたように，「スポーツ的なるもの」の源泉が，こうした宗教的な儀礼とつねに表裏の関係にあった，というわたしの仮説である。この勢いにのってさらに極論しておけば，バタイユのいう供犠執行者をスポーツのプレイヤー（競技選手，トップ・アスリート，スポーツマン，など）に置き換えて考えてみよう。たとえば，スポーツ選手たちが心身の限界に挑戦しながら繰り広げるプレイは，事物である人間の世界の枠組みに閉じこめられつつ，そこから離脱し移動せんとする強度をともなった激情（Leidenschaft）として，わたしの眼には映る。だから，普通では考えられないようなスーパー・プレイが生まれた瞬間，プレイヤーも観衆も一体となって感動する。これを「神が降臨した」と表現するのは，文字通り「俗なる世界」を突き抜けて，「神的世界」と共振・共鳴した瞬間ではないか，とわたしは考える。スポーツの「快楽」（この快楽についてもこれから，さまざまに考えていきたいと思っている）の源泉の一つがここにある，と。
あまり，さきを急ぐのはやめよう。これからの楽しみがなくなってしまう。少なくとも，ここでは「供犠」の構造を，バタイユの理論仮説にもとづいて，わたしなりに解釈し直してみると，そこにはみごとに「スポーツ的なるもの」の原風景が二重写しとなって，浮かび上がってくる。これだけを指摘するにとどめよう。
