_ 昨日（３０日）の朝日・夕刊の「惜別」に，遠藤幸雄さん，藤間紫さん，平木収さんの３人が写真入りで取り上げられていた。
当然のことながら，遠藤幸雄さんの記事に眼が行くべきなのに，わたしの眼は藤間紫さんの方に釘付けになっていた。遠藤さんは，わたしの大学時代の一年先輩で，体操部でお世話になった。平行棒のツイストという技のコツを教えてくれた。たったひとこと，手が離れるまで待っていろ，と。これで眼が覚めた。なるほど，自然に手が離れるのである。なにもする必要がない。待てばいいのである。こんなことがわからないから，一生懸命に突き放すことに専念していた。その他にも，いろいろの技のコツを教えてもらった。恩人である。
なのに，なのに，わたしの眼は藤間紫さんの記事の方に流れていってしまう。なぜか・・・。
７５歳の藤間紫さんが，たしか１０歳ほど年下の猿之助さんと再婚した，というニュースが流れたときに，「すごいなぁ」と感動したことを記憶している。藤間紫さんをわたしが初めて意識したのは映画女優としてであった。わたしが学生時代のことだから，いまから５０年ほど前になる。ということは，藤間紫さんが３５歳くらいのときだ。女性としても，女優としても，一つの画期を迎えていたころだ。なんとまあ，すさまじい演技をする女優なのだろうか，と打ちのめされたのが最初の記憶だ。鬼気迫る演技だった。以後，藤間紫さんの出演する映画は欠かさず見てあるいたと思う。啖呵を切ってよし，へなへなとした気弱な女を演じてもよし，ごくふつうの女性を演じてもよし，それぞれに一味違うものを感じさせてくれた。なにかが，からだをとおして伝わってくるような，通じ合えるようななにかがあった。この人の素顔というものはどういうものなのだろう，と映画をみたあと，いつも考えていたように思う。
その謎がこの新聞の記事を読んで解けた。
紫さんの側からみると「１秒でも長く猿之助さんといたかった。猿之助さんとの語らいが生きることだった」という。一方，猿之助さんの側からみると「いつまでも少女のような紫さんは，私にとりまして一番大切な人でした・・・紫さんと私の志は，いつも同じものを見つめて生きてきました」という。
こんな夫婦が存在するということ，そのこと自体がすでにして奇跡だと思う。７５歳と６５歳との出会い・・・。それは，おそらく電撃的な出会いだったのだろう。もう，結婚などという形式を超越して，ただ，ひたすら一緒にいたい，そして，同じ志をいだき，同じものを見つめて生きていたい・・・。なにものにも替えがたい至福のときの到来だ。こういう出会いに年齢は関係ない。出会ったことが先途だ。もう，なにものも止めようがない。とてつもなく大きな力がはたらいていて，まるで流体のように，お互いが一つになっていく・・・。自他の区分すら希薄になっていく。他なしには自の存在が不可能な関係性の萌芽をそこにみる。これもまた「萌えの襲ね」というのだろうか。
すごい記事と出会ってしまった。
「一秒でも長く猿之助さんと一緒にいたい」・・・こんな情の深い女性もまた希有なことなのであろう。この情の深さが映画女優として，その演技をとおして，一人の観客にすぎないわたしのこころにもするりと入り込んできていたのだろう。あのスクリーンをとおして伝わってきた藤間紫の「情」が，いままたなまなましく甦る。
人が生きるということの意味を，しみじみと考えてしまう。
