2009-03-15 文学雑誌が元気で困る。
_ 小説が好きで，内緒で読み続けていることは，身近な人たちはよく知っているとおり。で，今月の文学雑誌には困った。
毎月，中旬になると『週刊読書人』の最後のページの下蘭に，四つの文学雑誌が並んで広告を出す。『すばる』『文学界』『新潮』『群像』の４誌。これを眺めていたら，今月は「えらいこっちゃ」という内容が並んでいる。これでは，本屋に行って，立ち読みで済ますわけにもいかない，と困り果てている。
まず，『すばる』。ここでは，特集「群島の時代」が組まれていて，今福龍太「群島・世界論」特別編，巽孝之「この不思議な群島で」，宮内勝典「群島語」，とある。これは明らかに，昨年１１月に今福さんが出した『ブラジルのホモ・ルーデンス』と同時刊行であった（じつは，同時に３冊を刊行している）岩波の『群島・世界論』に共鳴・共振しての企画であることは明白である。やはり，必読の特集と言わねばなるまい。しかも，この号には，対談バルタバス（騎馬スペクタクル「ジンガロ」主宰）×中沢新一，というのも載っている。サーカスに関心をもっている人間としては，やはり，見過ごすことはできない。
つぎなる『文学界』。特集・倉橋由美子の魔力（没後４年・デビュー半世紀）が組まれていて，座談・加藤典洋×関川夏央×川上未映子「『大江と村上』の間を生きた孤高の作家」とある。倉橋由美子などといってみたところで，いまの若い人たちには「なんのこっちゃ」という話かもしれない。しかし，６０年安保，７０年安保，といういま考えてみれば，なんと純粋に国家のことを真剣に考え，行動した学生さんたち（自分自身も含めて）がいたことか，という思い出とともに浮かんでくる名前の一人がこの「倉橋由美子」なのである。ここではあえて倉橋由美子のディテールについて語ることはやめておくが，われわれ世代の純粋無垢な青年たちにとっては忘れることのできない「存在」であったのだ。その「存在」は，あの当時の「吉本隆明」にも匹敵するほどのビッグ・ネームだった。その倉橋由美子をこの３人がどのように語るのか，とりわけ，川上未映子がどのように語るのか，「先端」がチクチクするような話を展開しているのだろうか，と想像力をかき立てる。魅力的である。
しかも，同じ号のなかに，辺見庸の「『生首』より」という連作詩が掲載されているという。これもまた，いまのわたしとしては読まなくてはならない，大事な作家である。これまでに辺見庸が書いてきた，きわめて「批評性」の高いエッセイなどにつよく惹かれている以上，見過ごすことはできない。どんなことがあっても「手抜き」をしない作家である。それだけにこの人のものは必読に値する。
『新潮』はどうか。この雑誌には，なんと，わたしの大好きな山田詠美ちゃんが「学問」（完結編１５０枚，著者最大の主題＜性＞が結実した新・代表作の終幕）を完結させている。もう，これは理屈抜きのファンダムそのものだ。他人になっといわれようとも，わたしは山田詠美ちゃんが好きだ。この丸裸の，なにものにも構えない，あるがままの作家が好きだ。これは理屈ではない。ただ，単に，フィーリングが合うというだけのこと。
最後の『群像』は，まだ馴染みの浅い，若い作家の最新作が並んでいる。なかでも，天安門以後に「個人」を撮る，世界的映画監督が激変する中国の現代を語る「ジャ・ジャンクー」（聞き手・藤井省三），はなにがなんでも読んでおかなくては・・・と思う。ジャ・ジャンクー監督の最新の映画『四川のうた』も見たいし・・・。もう一つの目玉は，武田将明の群像新人文学賞受賞第一作「タナトスからの脱出（エクソダス）──現代小説の死と倫理」である。若い才能のある書き手が，受賞第一作にどのような作品を提示するか，わたしにはとても興味がある。なぜなら，受賞がほんものであったかどうか，その試金石でもあるからだ。作家としての実力が問われる。きびしい関門ではあるが，ここを通過すれば，その作家はもはやゆるぎない地位を確保することになる。さて，この作品はいかに。
とまあ，こんな調子で，小説大好き人間にとっては，時間がいくらあっても足りないのである。かなりのものは，本屋の立ち読みで消化しているのであるが，今回のこの四誌の内容の充実ぶり・・・，いや，偶然とはいか，わたし好みの凝縮した内容がいっぱい詰まったこれらの四つの文学誌は目が離せない。
「えらいことにとちょとなりにけりやがな」。
でも，これは嬉しい悲鳴。矢でも鉄砲でも降ってこいッ，だ。明日は本屋に走ろう。
