_ 西谷修さんから『グローバル・クライシスと”経済”の審問』（西谷修／中山智香子編）という「記録集」がとどく。
いつも国際的な視野に立って，精力的にシンポジウムや講演会，ラウンドテーブルなどを主催されている西谷さんから，そのつど，ご案内をいただき，可能なかぎり参加させてもらってきた。最初のうちは，わたしのような門外漢が・・・と多少腰が引けていたのだが，回を重ねるうちに，これはスポーツ史やスポーツ文化論を考えることと無縁ではないどころか，必要不可欠の問題だということに目覚めてくる。そうなると，西谷さんは，つぎはなにを仕掛けているのかな，と待ち遠しくなってくる。お蔭で，わたしはずいぶんと視野がひろがり，その分，スポーツ史やスポーツ文化論を展開する上で，得難い示唆をいただいた。感謝あるのみである。
こんどいただいた「記録集」は，ついこの間，２月１２日・１３日に開催されたアラン・カイエの講演趣旨，ラウンド・テーブル記録，アラン・カイエ関連論文まで収録されていて，その早業に驚く。西谷さんと中山さんとの名コンビと，このお二人をとりまく教務補佐員の人たち，そして，院生，学生さんたちのチーム・ワークのよさが垣間見えてくる。こういうある意味では地味な仕事をなし遂げるには，お二人をとりまく渦のような動力が必要で，それに反応する感度のいい支援者がどうしても必要である。個人的な力量が必要なことは当然であるが，それだけではことは成らない。ひそかに，わたしは大いなる刺激を受けている。
この「記録集」は，奥付などをみると，科学研究費基盤研究「戦争・経済・メディアからみるグローバル世界秩序の複合的研究」による研究成果報告書であることがわかる。しかも，発行者は，東京外国語大学綜合国際学研究院・グローバル・スタディーズ・ラボラトリー（ＧＳＬ）となっている。この奥付をみて，あれっ？と思い，これまでに送っていただいたものの奥付をみて，その名が変わっていることに気づく。
そう思って，もう一冊，とどいていた『９．１１後の世界を撃つ』国際協力講座の歩み２０００〜２００８，の方をみてみると，東京外国語大学大学院地域文化研究科国際協力講座の発行となっている。あわてて，「序」と「あとがき」を読む。ようやくことの真相がみえてきた。なるほど，そういうことだったのか，と。西谷さんはほとんど愚痴らしいことは言わない人だ。だから，身近にいるわたしですら気づかないでいた。そういえば，ときおり，妙なことを言っているなぁ，と思ったことはある。しかし，あまりに抽象的なので，現実の問題とは結びつかなかった。
そういう背景があって，今回のこの「記録集」なるものが作成された，しかも，相当のエネルギーを注いで。なぜなら，科学研究費の「報告書」であれば，３月末までに完成させなければならない，という絶対的な使命がある。これでようやく「アラン・カイエの報告書を急がなくては・・・」とひとりごとのようにつぶやいていたことが脳裏に浮かぶ。それでいて，３月には一週間ほど，フランスにでかけている。さては，つぎの仕込みにでかけたのかな，とこれはわたしの勝手な想像である。
さて，本題に入ることを忘れてしまっていた。
この「記録集」には，３回の公開討論が収録されている。
１）ウォール・クラッシュのさなかに──金子勝を迎えて（２００８．０２．１４）
２）ドイツ新自由主義思想の源流と国家の位置（２００８．０９．２９）
３）”経済”を審問する──ＭＡＵＳＳとともに（２００９．０２．１２・１３）
わたしの興味・関心は，３）にある。アラン・カイエ氏の組織している「ＭＡＵＳＳ」には，そのまま「マルセル・モース」の『贈与論』を引き受ける問題意識が表出している，という。西洋近代の「経済観念」とはまったく異なる，普遍的な経済概念ともいうべき「贈与」の問題をとりあげ，もう一度，原点から「経済」とはなにかを問うものだ，という。こうなってくると，いま，わたしが考えている「スポーツとはなにか」という根源的な問い直しにとっては，見過ごすことのできない重要なテーマとなってくる。わたしの「スポーツ」概念のディコンストラクシオンが，もう一つの新しい視点からもはじまるのでは・・・という期待でいっぱいである。
いつに変わらぬ西谷さんのご好意に感謝。
そして，４月１７日の合評会には万全の態勢で備えなくては。
