2009-09-11 竹内敏晴先生のご冥福を祈る。

_ 竹内敏晴さんが，９月７日にあの世に旅立たれたことを，１０日の朝日の夕刊で知った。唖然としてしまってことばがない。

このブログでも書いたように，８月２９日には三鷹で舞台公演があり，車椅子ではあったがご挨拶をされた。公演後にはロビーで，大勢のお弟子さんや関係者に囲まれて，一人ひとりことばを交わされ，丁寧に握手をされていた。わたしもその中のひとりとして，お話をさせていただき，握手をしていただいた。そのときのわたしのことばは「名古屋でのワークショップは延期されたと承知していますので，必ず，実施していただけるものと楽しみにお待ちしています」というものだった。竹内さんは，ちょっと「困ったなぁ」というお顔をされたが，にっこり笑って「ウンウン」とうなづいてくださった。「これはお約束です」と念を押したことばが最後となった。

あれからまだ１０日を経ずして，旅立たれることになろうとは・・・。夢にも思っていなかった。残念の極みである。

「先生と呼び合うのはあまり趣味ではありません。お互いに人間として生きているのですから，○○さん，と呼び合いましょう」と，最初にお会いしたときに言われたことばがいまも鮮明によみがえってくる。以後，とても畏れ多いことながら，わたしたちは勇気を奮い起こして「竹内さん」と呼ばせていただいた。「稲垣さんの話は面白いですねぇ」と持ち上げられ，すっかり調子に乗って，言わずもがなのことをしゃべりすぎたのではないか，と冷や汗が流れる。でも，いつも，竹内さんはニコニコ笑顔を絶やすことなく，わたしたちと同じ地平におりてきてくださり，ともに思考を交わしながら，より真なるものを模索する道へとともに歩んでくださった。

思い返せば，少なくとも３回は，長時間にわたってわたしたちにお付き合いくださり，「対話」をしてくださった。この「対話」という形式もまた竹内さんのご提案だった。わたしたちはご講演をお願いしたのだが，竹内さんは講演はなにがなんだかわけもわからないまま一方的に話すだけで，楽しくありません，お互いに考えていることをぶっつけ合って，ひとりで思考する限界を突き破っていけるような「場」をつくった方がずっと楽しいではないですか，と仰り「対話」へと導いてくださった。その上で，わたしたちの話にも，じっと耳を傾けてくださり，しかも率直なご意見を述べてくださった。その真摯で率直な物言いと思考の積み重ねの大切さを，率先垂範してくださった。ありがたいことである。

この３回にわたる竹内さんとの「トーク」をまとめて本にしようという企画は以前からあって，すでに，テープおこしも終わり，一回目の原稿の推敲も終わり，いよいよ本格的な「編集」の段階に入ろうとする矢先に，竹内さんの訃報に触れることになった。早くから竹内さんとのブリッジをかけてくださった三井悦子さんのご努力で，これから編集作業も佳境に入ろうかというときだっただけに，返す返すも竹内さんの訃報は残念で仕方がない。弔い合戦などということばは好きではないが，竹内さんを追悼する意味も込めて，みんなで力を合わせてこれから少しでもいい本に仕立て上げるべく努力したいと思う。

昨夜は，竹内さんの書かれた本を洗いざらい集めてきて机の上に積み，それぞれの本から受けた啓示のようなものを思い返しながら，ひとりでご冥福をお祈りさせていただいた。いまさらながら，竹内さんの書かれた本から，これほどまでの影響を受けていたのかとわが眼を疑ったほどである。そして，竹内さんの思考の深みには，優れた先人たちが探し求めてきた思想・哲学の「普遍」につながるテーマが流れていることも，しみじみと思い起こされるのであった。また，そこにつながるお仕事であったからこそ，ご高齢をみじんも感じさせない，みずみずしい情熱をみなぎらせることができたのだろう，としみじみと思い起こされるのである。

それは，わたしたちの合言葉でいえば，「じかに触れる」経験の重要さであった。「じか」とは，いったい，いかなる時空間に開かれるものを意味するのか，と竹内さんは「からだとことば」のレッスンをとおして問いかける。抽象的な思想や哲学のことばではなく，からだとことばをとおして，きわめて具体的な「経験」として確認しようとされる。そこに立ち合っている人全員が，なるほど，いまのことば掛けは「じか」に触れている，と確認することができたし，いまのことば掛けは「じか」に触れることなく「とおり過ぎて」しまったよね，と納得することができた。まごうことなき事実を「現前化」させる名手でもあった。それは長年の試行錯誤と創意工夫を積み重ねてこられた粋というべきであろう。

竹内さんの「じか」の経験のレッスンをとおして，わたしは，ジョルジュ・バタイユの「エクスターズ」と連なる，と直感したし，それは同時に，西田幾多郎の「純粋経験」や「行為的直観」そのものだ，ということがひらめいた。この話をしはじめると際限がなくなってしまうので，ほどほどにしておくが，最近では，今福龍太氏のいう「ミニマ・グラシア」もまた生身の人間の「魂と魂の触れ合い」という点で，やはり，竹内さんの「じか」に通底するものをわたしは感じている。

これからまだまだ「竹内さんを囲む会」を開催して，もっともっと本音をむき出しにした「トーク」をさせていただけるものと，わたしはあまりに楽観的でありすぎた。一期一会とはよくいったもので，その瞬間，瞬間に命をかけるくらいの覚悟がないと，大切なことがつぎつぎと目の前をとおりすぎていってしまう。すべて自業自得なのだが・・・・。

竹内さん，どうか安らかにお休みください。そして，ときおり，気が向いたときには，ちょっとだけ，わたしたちのことも思い出してやってください。それだけで，きっと，わたしたちは勇気百倍して，非力ながらも頑張っていけるに違いありません。
