_ またまた，玄ゆう宗久さんにはまっています。現代語訳『般若心経』（ちくま新書）を今日だけで２回も読んでしまいました。
ほとんど病気です。芥川賞作家ならではの文章のよさもさることながら，やはり，臨済宗の禅僧として天龍寺専門道場で本格的な修行をし，相当のレベルの「禅定」を経験したという裏づけ（ご本人はひとこともそのことに触れていません）が，行間からにじみでてくる，それがいいのだろうと想像しています。しびれました。これからも何回も読むことになるだろうこと間違いなしです。
いわゆる『般若心経』の現代語訳や解説本は，もう，掃いて捨てるほど，世の中に出回っています。しかも，わたしは若いころから『般若心経』の読解には惹きつけられるものがあって，ずいぶん多くの現代語訳や解説本を読んできました。数えたことはありませんが，たぶん，５０冊はゆうに越えていると思います。その結果，『般若心経』という経典は，いかなる解釈も読解も可能なのだ，その人，その時の，鏡に映るものを写し取ることしかできないのだ，という境地になっていました。ですから，そろそろ自分訳を試みてみようかな，と思っていたところです。
しかし，いやいや，そんなわけにはいきません。それはあまりに甘かった。玄ゆう宗久さんの，この現代語訳に出会って，完膚なきまでに打ちのめされてしまいました。お前がわかったと思っていることは，理性で辻褄合わせをしただけのことではないか。そういう理解の仕方こそ，徹底的に「無」に帰さなくてはいけない，と『般若心経』は説いているのだ，と。「般若波羅密」を徹底的に実践すること，そして，そのさきに開けてくる「普遍的真理」に到達すること，そのとき，たんなる呪文としか聞こえていなかった「ギャーテーギャーテーハラソウギャーテーボジソーワカ」という文言が初めて「真言」として聞こえてくるようになる，と。理性で理解する「理知」の世界からいかにして離脱し，もっと自由でなにものにも拘束されないのびのびとした世界に移動していくのか，そのための方法を説いた経典こそが『般若心経』なのだ，と玄ゆう宗久さんは力説します。
その説得力に参りました。頭で考えることなんてたかが知れている。頭で考えれば考えるほど，自己中心主義になる。脳細胞というのはそのようにできている。だから，いまはやりの「脳科学」が明らかにしつつあることがらの活用の仕方を，一つ間違えてしまうと，もはや取り返しのつかないことになる（と，これは，わたしの理解）。むしろ，いろいろの束縛のなかに閉じこめられてしまっている現代人の「脳」を，「無」の世界に解き放ってやること，そのとき，「脳」ははじめて自由奔放に活動をはじめる。このことを，玄ゆう宗久さんは，理性に頼らないで，「いのちの全体性」の中にみずからの身をゆだねなさい，と説く。
はじまりも終わりもない，連綿とつづく「いのち」の連鎖と合一・合体すること，それを説いたのが『般若心経』なのだ，とようやくわたしにも納得できるようになりました。ありがたいことです。
西田幾多郎がといた「一即多」「多即一」の世界や，ニーチェのといた「永遠回帰」「永劫回帰」，バタイユの「エクスターズ」とも通底する世界が，『般若心経』のなかに説かれている，というわけです。こういう世界が透けてみえてきたとき，わたしの全身の細胞の一つひとつが，にわかに蠢きはじめ，それまでのわたしの身体が，まったく別の次元の身体に移行していくことを感じます。世界が変わる，そんな実感です。
ちょうど，わたしが５０歳になるとき，確率二分の一であなたはガンだ，とお医者さんから言われたときと，とてもよく似ています。そのときは，自分のやりたいこと，やり残したことを，片っ端からノートに書き出し，それに優先順位をつけて，やれるところまでやって死ぬ，という覚悟をしました。そして，こころのなかでは「ガンと仲良しになろう」「仲良しになればガンもいじめたりはしないだろう」と思うことにしました。そのときから，思い出したら，いつでも，どこでも，『般若心経』を唱えることにしました。もちろん，ケロッと忘れることはつねのこと。それでもいい，と。こころに浮かんできたら・・・という程度に。「念ずればそれでよし」と，こどものころ尊敬していた伯父さん（禅僧）から聞いたことがあります。いちいち拝む必要はない，と。気持ちをそこに向けるだけでいい，と。
これだけで，相当に気持ちが楽になり，からだも緊張が解けたことを記憶しています。今回のは，もう少し深いところから，あるいは，微細なところから弾けたような感じです。言ってしまえば「快感」であり，「陶酔」であり，「恍惚」です。「スコン」となにかが抜けていった感じといえばいいでしょうか。
理性に頼らないで，「般若波羅密」を行ずること，このことを玄ゆう宗久さんに教えていただきました。わたしは曹洞宗ではありますが，臨済宗も同じ宗門なのですから。
「般若波羅密」については，もう少しかみ砕いて自分のことばで語れるようになったら，このブログに書いてみたいと思います。早く知りたい人はどうぞ，このテクストを読んでみてください。じつにわかりやすく説いてくれます。お薦めです。
