2008-12-27 「高気圧カプセル」がドーピングだって？
_ 最近は妙なスポーツ用器具が開発されていて，名前を聞いただけではその使用法がわからないものがある。そのなかではこの「高気圧カプセル」はわかりやすい。
「高気圧カプセル」という名前を聞いて思い出すのは，そう，あの「ハンカチ王子」さまが甲子園の決勝戦で決着がつかず，翌日に持ち越したときに，これを用いて疲労を回復した，というニュース。あのときは，そんなものを使って疲労が回復するものなのだろうか，とわたしの頭では理解不能であった。しかし，その後，サッカーの「ベッカム」さまがこの器具を好んで用いるとかで，「ベッカム・カプセル」という名前で親しまれるようになった。いまでは，かなりの普及をしているらしい。
しかし，ここでまたまた妙な問題が持ち上がっている，という。今日の朝日の「スポーツ短信」というコラムにつぎのような記事が載っていた。それによると以下のようである。
日本アンチ・ドーピング機構（ＪＡＤＡ）が，「高圧酸素カプセルの使用は控えるべきだ」という見解を示したために，「高気圧カプセル」が売れなくなったとしてアメリカのメーカーがＪＡＤＡに対して約１０億円の賠償を求める民事訴訟を起こす，というのである。ＪＡＤＡは，ことしの６月に，世界アンチ・ドーピング機構（ＷＡＤＡ）が「酸素摂取や酸素運搬，供給を人為的に促進すること」を禁止しているので，それに同調してさきのように「高圧酸素カプセル」の使用は控えるべきだ，という見解を表明していた。アメリカのメーカーは「ＪＡＤＡの見解で，気圧を高めるものもドーピングにあたると受け止められた」という。
まあ，こういう記事を読むと，相変わらず馬鹿げた論争をしているものだ，とあきれかえってしまう。最近，たまたま「世界アンチ・ドーピング規程」なるものの詳細を確認する必要があって，全文を読んだことがある。これがまた，とてつもなく長いのに，まずはあきれかえってしまった。この「規程」を選手はもちろんのこと，指導する監督・コーチも，たぶん，精確には知らないだろうと思う。このことも，最近，ある大学の監督・コーチの集まりの席で確認してみたら，はっきりと「知らない」という。では，どうするのか，と聞いてみたら，そのつど「ドーピング規程」に詳しいスポーツ・ドクターに相談することにしている，という。つまり，とても全部を頭に入れることはできないのである。もっと言ってしまえば，かなりの法律文の読解能力がないかぎり理解不能な文章になっている。わたしも何カ所か，繰り返して読み直してみたが，どのように理解したらいいのか不明なところがあった。この問題が一つ。
この「ドーピング規程」を読んだ全体的な印象では，「人為的」になにかをすることを禁止しているなぁ，というものである。その精神をしっかりと受け止めれば「酸素」を摂取することも「高圧」を加えることも「人為的」に行うことにおいて変わりはない。なのに，アメリカのメーカーは「酸素」を人為的に摂取することは「ドーピング違反」に相当するが，「高圧」を加えることは違反ではない，という見解に立っていることがわかる。こういうことが不可解なのだ。文言に一つひとつ書いてないものは「違反ではない」というのがアメリカ的合理主義者の主張である。法律の裏をかいて金儲けをしようという魂胆がまるみえだというのに。こういうアメリカ的発想が，もうひとつの問題。
もっと初歩的な問題がある。それは，こういう高価な器具を自由に使えるのは，サッカーのプロでも「ベッカム」さまクラスでないと使えない。ましてや，高校野球の選手たちが用いることができるのは，相当の金持ちの野球部でなくては不可能だ。なのに，高野連は無視している。これはほんの氷山の一角にすぎない。もっと視野を広げていけば，不平等があちこちに散見できる。まとめてしまえば，金持ちが断然有利，ということが野放しになっているのである。この不平等こそが問題である。これが三つめの問題。
このようにして「ドーピング問題」を考えることは，なんのことはない，現代社会の縮図をそこにみることと同じところにゆきつく。もっと言ってしまえば，「ドーピング問題」を考えることは「世界」を考えることだ，と。ここまでくると，今福さんが『ブラジルのホモ・ルーデンス』の冒頭に書き記した「サッカーを考えることは世界を考えることだ」という名言につながっていく。そして，このような思考の展開の仕方，あるいは，問題の問い詰め方こそが「批評」という名に値するものなのだ。
ちょっと考えれば，だれにでもわかる理屈なのに，それこそ「猿にもわかる」矛盾なのに，それにフタをして「知らぬ勘兵衛」を決め込むのが，いわゆる「勝ち組」の論理なのだ。そして，そここそが「テロ」を生み出す温床になっている，というのに。この「根」を絶つことなしに，現代世界の問題解決はありえない。
ああ，困ったものだ。
