_ 湯浅博雄の『バタイユ 消尽』（講談社学術文庫）の２９２ページに「欲望の本質的次元」という小見出しのついて文章について考えてみたい。
まずは，考える対象となる文章を引用しておく。
・・・・欲望の本質はひとたび文化的な規範や法を経験した人間（法に従って生き始めた人間）が，それを犯し，破るという力動性（ダイナミズム）である。なにかしら禁じられ，制約づけられたことを強いてのり超え，破るという暴力性，侵犯性の意味をおびている。いったん嫌悪され，怖れられたもの（狂暴な力と感受されたもの）を，欲望は再び連れ戻そうとする。それに近づいてはならない，触れてはならないと遠ざける嫌悪感，嘔吐感，恐怖，羞恥心などが心的に抵抗するにもかかわらず，それをのり超え，敢えて侵犯する。そのとき初めて欲望は真に高まり，人間だけが知るある深い喜びへの道を開く。
この引用文にいたる前段では，欲求の問題が取り上げられている。ここでは，欲求は，動物性の次元，つまり，本能的な自然的所与として持ち合わせているもの，と考えられている。たとえば，睡眠欲，食欲，性欲，などのことを欲求ととらえている。それに対して，欲望は，動物性から離脱し，人間性へと移動したことによって，自然のままの欲求とは別個に，文化的に形成されたものとして位置づけられている。
したがって，欲望の本質的次元は，欲求のそれとは異なる。引用文では，きわめて端的に，欲望の本質は，文化的に形成されたルールを犯し，破るという力動性（ダイナミズム）だ，と言い切っている。じつにわかりやすい。だから，なにかをやってはいけない，と言われるとやりたくなる，これが欲望だ。その禁止がきびしくなればなるほど，その禁を破るという欲望のレベルが高くなってくる。
しかし，よくよく考えてみると，欲望の構造は，昨日のブログに書いた「祭祀儀礼は否定の否定」と同じ構造であることに気づく。祭祀儀礼を「祝祭」と置き換えてみると，もっとわかりやすくなってくる。祭祀儀礼が，たとえば，家畜化した羊を自然に戻すために供犠として「殺す」，あるいは，栽培植物にしたイネを自然に戻すために神に供物として捧げる。そのあと，この供物をいただく直会（神との共食）が行われる。やがて，祝祭へと進展していく。ここで展開されることは，人間性から動物性への回帰である。ここでは，いかなる禁止も存在しない。自然のままである。この自然に回帰したいという衝動が，ここでいう欲望だ。
話は一気に飛躍するが，フーリガン問題を考えるヒントの一つ，しかも，きわめて重要なヒントがここにはある，とわたしは考える。近代社会が構築した法秩序を徹底して破るという暴力性の根底にあるものが，ここでいう「欲望」ではないか，と。だとすれば，否定の否定をとおして，もう一度，自然に戻りたい，動物性を取り戻したいという，きわめて根源的な生の衝動に依拠したものだ，ということになる。この仮説は無視できないものを含んでいる，とわたしは考える。
もう一つは，モンゴルの馬の「聖性」の問題も，この否定の否定の構造をもっているように，わたしは考えるのだが，はたしてどうだろうか。
このように考えていくと，この否定の否定の論理は，これまでの近代歴史学的な発想（つまりは，「有用性」にもとづく説明＝合理化）とは，まったくことなる説明論理の地平を開くことになる。だとしたら，これまでのスポーツ史研究では「常識」とされてきたものの見方・考え方そのものが怪しくなってくる。
とまあ，まだまだ，粗削りではあるが，こんなことを考えはじめている。この道はちょっと面白くなりそうだ。もう少し，追い込んでみることにしたい。
