_ ちょっと一息入れようと思って，久しぶりに宮部みゆきの『名もなき毒』（光文社）に手をのばす。ところがである。宮部ワールドに惹きつけられてしまった。
このところ，竹内敏晴さんがらみの追悼シンポジウムや「偲ぶ会」などがあって，しかも，バタイユ的スタンスから竹内敏晴さんのお仕事と思想を考え直してみようと思い立ち，かつてない重いテーマの真っ只中に身をおき，長い時間をすごしてきた。お蔭で，わたしなりに納得のできる竹内敏晴像が浮かび上がってきたので，少しだけ安らぎをおぼえている次第。もちろん，奥の深い竹内敏晴さんのお考えや実践のすべてがみえてきたわけではない。それでも，ここがポイントだな，という程度の確信が得られたので，かなり満足している。細部については，こんごも時間をかけて詰めていくことが，わたしの仕事でもある。
というわけで，一区切りついた，という安堵感もあって，このあたりで一息入れてもいいのかなと考えた。そのとき，偶然にも，目の前に宮部みゆき著『名もなき毒』という推理小説が置いてあった。でも，一瞬だけ，躊躇した。なぜなら，宮部みゆきの小説は，読み始めたら病みつきになるということを知っていたから。以前，藤沢周平の小説にとりつかれてしまったことがあり，とうとう，およそ手にすることのできる作品を全部読むことになってしまった。それと似た感覚がわたしのなかにはあって，宮部作品は「鬼門」の一つであった。
でもまあ，目の前にあることだし，ちょっとだけ・・・という軽い気持ちで読み始めたのが間違いのはじまりだった。どうしても片づけなくてはならない日常の雑事以外の，すべての時間を宮部みゆきに奪われることになってしまった。そして，まるまる二日間（４６０ページに及ぶ長編），宮部ワールドにどっぷりと浸り込むことになった。
そして，強烈な「快感」が，からだを縦横に駆け抜けていった。なんだろう，この「快感」は。
推理小説なので，ストーリーを書くという野暮なことはしない。書いておきたいことは，宮部みゆきの人間をみる確かな眼，その洞察力の鋭さ，そして，登場人物たちのキャラクターを描き出す筆力のみごとさ，読者のこころの奥底まで染み入ってきて感動をさそう文章力とストーリー展開のリズムのよさ・・・その背景には，彼女のみごとな思想・哲学を読み取ることができる。この作品は，第４１回吉川英治文学賞を受賞したもので，その名に恥じない立派な作品となっている。とりわけ，後半は，感動のあまり涙まで誘うみごとさである。
