2009-10-18 「竹内敏晴さんを偲ぶ会」に出席。
_ 東京・賢治の学校（立川・鳥山敏子）で「竹内敏晴さんを偲ぶ会」が開催された。秋晴れの好天にめぐまれ，竹内さんに思いを馳せるには絶好の日和となった。
午前９時３０分からはじまって，第一部が終わったら午後２時近くになっていた。まず，参加者全員による「献花」にはじまり，竹内さんにゆかりの方々の「竹内さん，ありがとう」というスピーチがあった。しかし，こんなに延々とスピーチがつづくとは思っていなかったので，いささか，意表をつかれた思い。でもお蔭で，わたしの知らなかった竹内さんのいろいろの側面が紹介されて，なるほどなぁ，と納得することが多くあった。
たとえば，冒頭にお話された一高時代の弓術部後輩の方のお話のなかに，『正法眼蔵』を愛読されていた竹内さんのご紹介があり，やはりそうだったんだ，とこころの底から納得。なぜなら，「竹内さんを囲む会」（全部で４回開催）のディスカッションのなかで，時折，意外なところで道元さんの話題が登場し，竹内さんが熱っぽく語られることがあったからだ。禅寺で育ったわたしとしては，とても嬉しくて，不十分な理解ながらも必死で応答させていただいた。『正法眼蔵』の内容はきわめて難解で，わたしには手に負えないところが多かったので，それをわざわざ『般若心経』読解におきかえて，お話をさせていただいたりもした。
それと，一高時代に，竹内さんは，すでに，一種独特の存在だったらしく，周囲の寮生たちからも特別扱いをされていた，というお話が印象的だった。孤高の人とでもいうべきか。竹内さんの生涯にわたる存在感の重さの片鱗のようなものが，すでに，一高時代にめばえていたということだろう。配布された「略年譜」によれば，一高の自治寮委員長をされていた，というのも確たる根拠の一つといっていいだろう。このころから，「深く考える人」だったこと，しかも，ふつうの人が考えないことを深く考える人だったことも透けて見えてくる。思考と実践をとおして，つねに新しい自己に「気づく」こと，この姿勢は生涯にわたって変わらなかった。その情熱はどこから湧いてくるのか・・・ということを，他の方々のお話を聞きながらも，ずーっと考えていた。
もう一点，強く印象に残ったことは，「演劇」というもののもつ迫力はとてつもないものだ，ということだった。だから，演劇の人たちも凄い。演出家というお仕事がどういうものなのか，わたしは知らない。しかし，今日の演劇関係者のお話をとおして，おぼろげながら，あるイメージだけは浮かんできた。それはもう，まるで戦場のような「結界」とでもいうべき時空間のなかで，丁々発止と闘いながら，一つの演劇をつくり上げ，俳優さんたちは与えられた役を「生ききる」ことに全力をあげる。これは，バタイユ的にいえば，「全体的経験」ということになろうか。一人の生きる人間として，全体重をかけて，あるいは，存在のすべてを賭けて，瞬間，瞬間に勝負をかけていく。こういう，ある意味での修羅場をくぐり抜けていく経験の蓄積が，人を徹底的に鍛え上げ，磨き上げていくのだろう。竹内さんの存在感の重さは，こうして形成されたものなのだろう。
このことを考えると，わたしの通ってきた道がいかに安易であり，いい加減な人間関係のなかでごまかしつづけてきたことか，と慙愧の念にかられる。教育現場がみるも無残に頽廃し，大学もすでに崩壊寸前に追い込まれているのも，わたしを含めて，いい加減な人と人との関係性でこと足れり，としてきた長年のつけがたまっただけのことだ。われわれ教育という場で仕事をしている人間はもっともっと反省しなくてはいけない・・・・と今日一日，考えていた。
竹内さんは，こうした現状をしっかりと見据えた上で，「ことばとからだのレッスン」を構築すべく全力を傾けられた。それも，終わりのない，永遠の試行錯誤のように。構築しては壊し，さらに工夫を加えては新たに構築し，を繰り返す。つねに，みずからに問いを投げかけながら，その答えを見つけるべく工夫を重ねる。その一方で，思想・哲学の理論武装にも余念がない。マルチン・ブーバー，メルロ・ポンティ，ハイデガー，ニーチェ，魯迅，道元・・・・と。わたしの小さなアンテナにひっかかる思想・哲学者の名前ですら，ここまではすぐにでてくる。この他にも，じつに多くの思想遍歴をしていることは，木田元さんとの対談集『待つしかない，か』を読めばわかる。
竹内敏晴という人間を構成している，わたしにとっての未知なる部分が明らかになるにつれ，この人の大きさがますます大きくなってくる。こういう人と，ほんの一瞬とはいえ，出会えたことを，こころから感謝したい。
_ 昨日（１７日）の「ＩＳＣ・２１」東京例会での「竹内敏晴追悼シンポジウム」では，「じか」に触れる経験とはなにか，というテーマで議論をした。この議論をとおして浮かび上がってきたいくつかの新たな課題について考えるヒントも，今日の「偲ぶ会」をとおして発見することができた。
当分の間，竹内敏晴さんのことが頭のなかを駆けめぐることになるだろう。それもまた竹内さんからのプレゼント。快くお受けして，考え，気づくことに身をゆだねることにしよう。
「はい，息を吸ってぇ・・・・，止めてぇ・・・，はい，吐いて・・・」という竹内さんの声が聞こえてくる。
